Packaging Design
Origin provides natural energy drinks that don’t use caffeine, but the natural, energy-rich ingredients found in the fruits we enjoy everyday. The company is big on sustainability, so each bottle is crafted with 92% Bio-degradable plastics. The other big sustainability push is with the Bamboo bottle caps. Under their beauty, Bamboo is classified as an invasive plant species, and when left unchecked, decimates ecosystems until they take over everything. Origin uses recycled Bamboo for their bottle caps; purchased from anti-invasive species organizations that will help limit the harm that Bamboo can have on healthy ecosystems. Bottle caps are the most thrown away pieces of plastics, so now Origin has bio-degradable plastics for the bottle, and recyclable Bamboo for the cap, creating a more than ideal, eco-friendly, beverage bottle.
The bright, energetic color gradients in the packaging will easily demand the attention of any passing consumer, whilst the sophisticated look of the label will give them all the information they need without having to stress about what they are consuming.
The Pattern was inspired by nebulas viewable in space. The bright colors that nebulas exhibit have always demanded the attention of the viewer, which is exactly what the goal of this design was centered around. The gradients signify the 3 flavors offered by the company, and conceptually identify the feeling of drinking an Origin beverage: a needed boost of energy, with a gradual decent to normal energy levels without the “crash” of caffeine.
